lols. I went to City Park with Dani today. "Be back by 4" my parents said. We left around 2:15, and met up sometime around 2:30. By the time we got to city park it was 3:10. "let's leave around 3:30" i said. "alright" Dani says. so we go around the park and she takes pictures, which was the reason we went. The ducks and geese were cool. We named the emo duck Pete Wentz haha. So it's 3:30 and we leave the park slowly (she's still taking pictures) and we start walking home. By the time we are at burhans near the bridge (about 15 minutes from my house) it's 4. "Oh damn, oh well haha" i say. We are near the railroad tracks by woodland way which is where we will go seperate ways. I get a phone call. "It's my dad." I answer.
"Where are you?"
"Pennsylvania Avenue." (The main street by my house, however it's about 5+ miles long, so i wasn't being very specific).
"Well, get home soon, you were supposed to be home at 4."
"Ok, bye."
"Bye."
So we stand around, not wanting to leave. Hugs and slaps in the faces continue (ongoing "beatings" between us. It could be considered an abusive relationship =P). 4:20 and we are still standing around, same place haha. "You should go" she says to me and I say to her. finally, 4:25, I decide to leave. We go seperate ways, and I get a call just as I leave. My dad again.
"Where are you!?"
"Almost home."
"You said that 20 minutes ago."
"Yeah." (I know that I'm going to get in trouble, it wouldn't be the first time I got in trouble for being late. I also know that they can't really do anything to punish me. They don't take my phone away when i'm grounded. The worst they ever do is take away my internet connection).
"I'm pissed. Get home now!"
"Ok. Bye"
I hang up before he can say bye.
I run through an alley I was entering. It saves me about 5-10 minutes than if i walked. I cross Pennsylvania Avenue. I start walking down the street to get to my house. I see my dad walking towards me. "This can't be good, but just stay calm and act like you don't care." I think to myself. I don't say anything as we approach each other and I barely make eye contact.
"Where were you on Pennsylvania Avenue when I called the first time?"
"I was near Burger King, (I paused here because I was about to say we were coming from that end of Penn. Ave. which leads to a dangerous part of the road with no sidewalk and 40mph traffic, got in trouble for walking that way once before. This was also a lie, I was on the other end of Penn. Ave., I don't know why I just didn't say the correct thing but I couldn't change my story in the middle of telling it) and we were coming from Northern Ave (A street that intersects Penn. Ave.)."
"It doesn't take 20 minutes to walk from Burger King here, now tell me where you really were."
"I was there!"
"Don't lie. Tell me where you really were." He said while getting increasingly angry.
"We went through the cemetery--"
(interrupting) "--Then you would have been closer to the house!"
"We went, like, around it, through it, like a detour" (I scrambled to get my words together.)
"So you took a detour even after I told you to come straight home? You disobeyed me?" (Now he is really pissed).
"Yeah." (At this point I figure it can't get any worse, so I just answer his rhetorical questions with a 'yeah.')
"3 out of 4 times you are late when we tell you to be home at a certain time." (I love to make fun of my parents in my head when they get mad. Italicized quotes will be my thoughts as he says the next things.)
"That's 25% that I'm on time!"
"You are always late when you come home."
"No, I'm late 75% of the time!"
"So you disobeyed me purposely, knowing that I wanted you home after I called you."
"Yeah."
"Well that's just great. I'm a little pissed at Dani, too." (Hell no, you are not blaming this on her. I paused, not knowing what to say, there was about 3 seconds between when he said this and when I responded.)
"She didn't know I had to be home by 4." (She really did.)
"What did you say to her after I called you the first time?"
"I didn't say anything." (Also a lie.)
I don't think he said anything after that, as we were almost home.
Later, he called everyone to the living room to discuss my punishment.
I'm grounded until Saturday. No walks. I also have to be home from school by 3:50, usually I stay with Dani until her mom comes and picks her up. Usually I get home between 3:50 and 4, so now I can't stay with her the whole time. Bah. He made sure the whole family was there so everyone knew my punishment and I couldn't use my "I didn't think that was part of it" excuse. For every day that i'm late home, my punishment extends another day.
So yeah, nothing too big. The only thing I don't like is that I won't be able to see Dani until saturday (She's coming to the Atlantic Coast Championships, a band competition, with me to see andy and North High perform. I'll be with her all day until 3am =D). Plus, I won't be able to stay with her until her mom comes to pick her up. Bah.
On the plus side, I got new headphones for my mp3 player. I lost my other ones 2 weeks ago and now I got some more. Winnar!
I'm sorry that I won't be able to see you outside of school until Saturday Dani. No fun, right? It's worth it though haha. Today was fun, thanks for going with me =P
